What are Antioxidants?

Antioxidants are phytochemicals, which are found in fruits and vegetables. They are known to protect our body from the damage caused by the free radicals. Free radicals are formed in the body as a result of oxidation. Their formation increases as a result of bad eating habits and smoking.It is good idea to eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables everyday in order to stay healthy.
