What is Cholesterol ?

Cholesterol is the waxy substance in human tissues.It plays a key role in digestion ,absorption and transport of fats through out the body. The liver cells are continuously making cholesterol in our bodies. There are two levels of cholesterol LDL and HDL.
LDL are called low density lipo-protein,too much of LDL in the blood stream can cause blockage in the arteries and may lead to heart attack.HDL are known as high density lipo-protein.High levels of HDL are associated with low risk for heart attack.
